The Institute of Livestock Science and Technology (ILST) was established in order to make livelihood services accessible to the doorsteps of the people, self-sufficiency and skilled manpower in livestock. It is situated about three kilometres from Gaibandha city beside Gaibandha-Saghata Road adjacent the horticulture centre on an area of ​​12 acres in a very pleasant environment. It is a government organization comprising the Directorate Livestock Service under the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. Its educational activities are conducted by the BCS (Livestock) cadre officer. The four-year "Diploma in Livestock" degree was awarded by this institution under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board. The project started for the first time in Gaibandha district of Rangpur Division in Bangladesh and its education program was started with the admission of students in 2016. At present Nasirnagar, Brahmanbaria; Work is underway to set up an ILST college in five places including Gopalganj, Khulna and Netrokona.
